I applied online. I interviewed at Honda (Bracknell, England) in Jul 2017
Interview
The overall process took half a year to complete (Feb - July). You start with an online application form and if you pass this you will get contacted by AutoPeople who will ask you a few questions - this is relatively straight forward. You then get invited to the first assessment centre which consists of a few team activities and also individual ones. You will then be asked to create some excel graphs / a presentation etc. This assessment centre takes about half a day.
I was then invited to the last assessment centre, there were about 13/14 of us. Again, there are some team activities (pitching) and some individual (personality tests etc), as well as a presentation to management which we had to prepare prior to the day.
I then had to wait several weeks to hear anything, and in the end my response was an email from someone I'd never had any contact with saying I had not been successful, with no explanation at all.
I think, after 6 months in the process, I could have been graced with a phone call for the rejection rather than an off-hand, two-sentence email. I followed up the email for some feedback and never got a response.
Frankly, an extremely poor show from Autopeople and Honda. They need to speed up the hiring process, not conduct their assessment centres around exam time, and offer some decent feedback no matter what the outcome. There were only 14 of us at the final stage - it wouldn't have taken them long. Shocking given the length of the process and the presentation preparation we had to put in prior to the final assessment centre.
This needs to be rectified before the next batch of candidates apply next year. Unacceptable from a company like this.
