Hiring manager contacted me first. Then they checked for matching teams. Once they found a match I interviewed with the corresponding team. The requirement was for big data and the interview was mostly system level. Lot of architecture questions were asked along with algorithm questions. There were overall 5 interviews.

My Profile was shortlisted by Hortonworks recruitment team.
I was interviewed for Software Security Engineer profile. There were three rounds of technical interview through Skype. One with Staff Engineer in Bangalore, Senior Manager and Director in US.
There was an on-premise interview where i was interviewed by one of the PMC member. Interview Schedules were well planned by the recruiter and was approachable throughout the process. Whole Process was completed in 2 weeks of time(from the time i got a call till getting the offer letter).

First I had to do a 100min long hackerrank test, with standard questions.
The interview felt more like an interrogation than a conversation, never once did the interviewer ask what I am looking for or what motivates me. He only managed to talk about the position after I asked him.
