      Bus Driver Interview

      May 8, 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5+ months. I interviewed at Houston Metro in Apr 2014

      Interview

Basic Question and Written Test. Come in and wait and wait. It takes a long time for them to get back with you after you have applied online. Many don't show up for some reason; this job is not for everyone. This place does leave you wondering about the job. Since if you call them they never answer the phone...not a good sign.

      Question 1

Same questions..How would you do this or that? How is your defensive driving? What do you like about Metro? There is nothing but basic questions?

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Houston Metro (Houston, TX) in Feb 2018

      Interview

A total waste of time! The application form is very comprehensive yet by the time I got to my 1:1 interview having passed their skills testing, the Metro recruiter showed they had not reviewed any of my details despite having them for several months. The recruiter also advised at the interview they would require documentary evidence I graduated from high school and had a BA, this should have been advised at the start of this lengthy process as I am a British ex-pat and all my education was gained in England and to obtain this evidence would take considerable time. I also tried explaining the differences between the UK and US education system but the recruiter was not interested. The recruiter also asked several questions but when I was answering she kept talking over me interrupting and going into a completely different subject. I feel the recruiter was just a 'script monkey' and anything outside the normal written instructions she had received was over her head. Not a professional recruiter by any standards. I was informed I would have to enrol in their own GED program to be offered the job, I refused as this is a complete backwards step. I was already way ahead of their training program as I got my CDL B permit by myself!
