I have been in sales for 10 years. It has been 5 years since I have been in an Inside Sales role which is basically what this position is. I went through the entire interview process which is very long and took away several hours from my current position. The salary is almost 30k less than I currently make and not competitive for the expectations they have set. At the last step, they sent an automated message letting me know they chose not to hire me. They asked a lot about my college experience. When you have 10 years of sales under your belt and a proven track record, why is this relevant? I have some college education. The last 3 positions I have held required a bachelors degree and I have been a top performer. This tells me that they don't set their expectations at the equivalent level of their pay. Very disappointed in my entire experience and not just because I didn't get the position.
Great company to work for. They have a stringent hiring process. You will have multiple interviews followed by a presentation at the end. All in all they want to see if you understand their platform and user mentality. Big props if you show your personality or if you have a positive attitude it will go a long way. It was definitely gruelling but totally fair as the job itself is quit full on.

Question 1
Why Houzz? Why sales? You don't seem like a salesperson.. (I don't). Very blunt but direct.
Houzz places a large emphasis on role playing in the interview process, both for external and internal roles. It's daunting in the moment but is actually good practice and gives interviewers a good sense of how you think on your feet
