Interview
I applied online. Received an email from a recruiter the day after to set up a phone interview. We set up a date and time but she never called me. I emailed her later to follow up, she apologized and we set up another date and time, 10 minutes before the interview she emailed me and asked me if it is ok to change the time, of course I said yes. We agreed on a later time for the same day but again15 minutes before the interview she emailed me opologizing and asking to set up another date and time as her day turned out to be a very busy day! So again for the fourth time we agreed on a date and time for the next week. Finally we were able to connect, she asked me typical questions about my personal work experiences and where my accent is from which I found very unprofessional. Then she told me she will pass on my information to her hiring managers and she will contact me if they decide to move forward.
One week later I sent her a following up email and she emailed me back to let me know that I was not a qualified candidate for this position, No feedback nothing. I was very disappointed!! I've spent a lot of time preparing for the interview, researching about the company and the job position, their culture, their values, their expectations, etc. I have a MBA and I had almost 3 years of sales experience with the Architecture and Design community. So what exactly made me not qualified I don't know! My accent maybe?!
Great company to work for. They have a stringent hiring process. You will have multiple interviews followed by a presentation at the end. All in all they want to see if you understand their platform and user mentality. Big props if you show your personality or if you have a positive attitude it will go a long way. It was definitely gruelling but totally fair as the job itself is quit full on.

Question 1
Why Houzz? Why sales? You don't seem like a salesperson.. (I don't). Very blunt but direct.
Houzz places a large emphasis on role playing in the interview process, both for external and internal roles. It's daunting in the moment but is actually good practice and gives interviewers a good sense of how you think on your feet
