I applied online and was contacted via email about scheduling a coding interview. While the interview question was *insanely easy* I just totally bombed it. I correctly solved the problem, but I knew my code was messy and my algorithm was sub-par. This was my second real coding interview, so I was pretty nervous. There were several times where I asked my interviewer clarifying questions and he did not seem to hear me or notice me at all. My questions ranged from "would you like me just to log the solution or actually return it as output?" to "now that I'm finished, do you have any feedback for me?" The disconnect was pretty uncomfortable, especially once I had finished and was trying my best to engage with him. He just seemed like he was either totally uninterested or was busy with something else. Also, something that I found annoying is before I had my interview I was put in touch with a recruiter. I sent him an email with a few questions (really basic) and he never responded. I felt overall that this experience was pretty unprofessional. I waited a few weeks after my results to write this review, just in case my sourness was related to the rejection letter. But now that I've had the time to figure it out and move forward elsewhere, it really was Houzz that treated me poorly.
