I cannot say enough about the recruiting process at Houzz. I've interviewed with several companies, from small to publicly traded, and Houzz's interview process is by the far the most professional and efficient.
My experience:
-After submitting online app, I was quickly e-mailed for a phone screen w/recruiter.
-Following phone screen, Houzz scheduled my in-person interview with their Recruiter right away. The purpose of this interview was to review my resume and qualifications, but really focused more on both of us getting to know each other. It included an office tour and full rundown of Houzz's family culture and environment. The entire team was warm, welcome, and everything from the parking directions to the compensation structure was communicated clearly and with transparency. I’ve never had a first interview like this before, but I cannot stress how appreciated it was- Right from the get go, I had a very clear picture of what I could expect working at Houzz. This is not always clear even on the third or final interviews with other companies, and leads to wasted time and resources for both parties.
-Three days later, I was in for my final interview with two separate parties. First interview was behavioral, STAR format. Second was with LOB Manager for closer evaluation of my skills and the position. The nice thing was that the recruiter gave me a heads up on the STAR format and interview schedule so I walked in knowing exactly what to expect – again, clear communication and consistency from Houzz.
-Within days following, I had an offer!
Overall, my impression of the recruiting team at Houzz and the obvious efficiency and quick-execution of their internal procedures was a large part of why I accepted their offer. Of note, Stacey Bloeser and Marisa Farney’s professionalism, consistent follow-up, and clear communication.
