I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Houzz (San Diego, CA) in Jul 2019
Interview
The interview process was pretty standard. Phone screening from a recruiter and then an in person interview with the recruiter and then the hiring manager. Basic behavioral and situational questions (ex. "tell me about a time when.."). My interview didn't start until 10 minutes after the scheduled time and the interviewer admitted she forgot to grab my resume. I just felt like they didn't take the time to prepare and I didn't appreciate that. I will say that my experience at the office was awkward. The employees were cold and unwelcoming. The office receptionist was not welcoming and gave me a half assed tour of the office like she had just given 5 before me. Bunch of cubicles and had a sorority/fraternity type atmosphere. Frankly, after walking in I wanted to leave. I don't believe the culture that they try to convey in the videos of the company is reflective of the actual work culture. Glad I dodged that bullet.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you went above and beyond to accommodate a customer
Initial phone screening was standard - asked about experience, motivations etc. However, questions dragged on for far longer than necessary and at the end, they said they would get back via email but never did.
