I applied online. I interviewed at Houzz (Boston, MA) in Dec 2020
Interview
Pretty standard interview process.
1. Chat with HR (who takes a month to get back to you -- pretty disappointed)
2. First phone interview -- LC hard (convert number to english words)
3. Second Interview -- few questions about web stuff like DNS, TCP vs UDP etc and then a basic coding question which was blown out of proportion made difficult unnecessarily (insertion and search of BST with a twist). I didn't understand the contract of the question properly and when I asked questions about it the interviewer mocked me saying are you really sure you're a Software Engineer? I had already lost interest when he mocked and just wanted to get done with the interview. As soon as I solved the problem, I just hung up.
The recruiter replied to me with a standard rejection email and I was really pissed because he mentioned they're pretty new to interviewing remotely (sounds to me like a a "YOU" problem! If you're new, don't treat people as guinea pigs and bloody accept your mistake.
Never interviewing with them again!
Standard interview process,
1st step is the online coding challenge in one of the popular coding sandbox provider
2nd step and 3rd step is technical rounds, questions asked are Basic framework and libraries and DSA
final round was with HR
