I have to say I am overall extremely disappointed with my interview experience at Houzz. It was the most misleading interview I have ever had. In 1 month I had a total of 8 interviews including: phone interview, in person interviews, a role play, running my background check and calling references, even shadowing an employee and lastly a skype interview with a VP in Palo Alto. After putting me through all of these steps and leading me on for ONE MONTH, I received a generic denial email. I then emailed 4 different people with a follow up and asking for feedback, in which I received only 1 reply with zero feedback.
I was so excited for the opportunity to interview and work at Houzz. I understand being picky, but after all of those steps and dragging someone on for an entire month you'd think you would be good enough to join the team or at least warrant a phone call explaining where it went wrong.
Not really sure what the hiring managers are looking for.
Be prepared to answer a lot of questions about high school and college extracurriculars. Also be prepared to take a lot of time off your current job.
I suggest hiring managers condense the interview process- maybe have applicant meet with different managers in 1 day versus coming back multiple times. I also suggest if you're not going to offer someone a position, let them know in interview 2 or 3, after 8 interviews it's only normal to think you're in!
Overall really left a bad taste in my mouth.

Interview
Very interesting! Starts with a phone interview, then moves on to a group interview with a presentation about the company. It culminates in an hour long interview one-on-one. In both the phone and group interview, they do a fantastic job of selling the company culture and getting you excited about the opportunity. I'm impressed with the level of detail they go into for hiring entry level positions.
