Interview
I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter. Next was a tech screen, a one-on-one coderpad with video, that was fairly easy.
Next step was the onsite which was a complete joke and a mess. Whoever decided on this process really has no clue what to look for. They scheduled four back-to-back one hour meetings. Three coding and one system design.
I had two issues:
First was that there was literally no time in between each interview. The most time I had to rest was the 30 seconds between closing my current interview and waiting for the link to the next one to open on my browser. I can assure you that no engineer can code and think for this long without any breaks.
Second was that the virtual onsite interviewers were absolutely terrible. Two spoke mostly passable English, I still had to ask quite a bit for them to repeat themselves. The other two were extremely hard to communicate with and spoke terrible English. One barely responded to any questions and spoke probably 30 words maximum during my interview. Also they continually coughed into their microphone, which made it harder to focus as I was already in my 2nd or 3rd hour straight of coding.
