Interview
I was originally reached out to on LinkedIn by a hiring manager who thought my skill set was a match for what his team was hiring for. We had a great phone conversation so I decided to apply for the role. Next came a basic phone screen with HR - nothing out of the ordinary. After that, I was invited to schedule a technical interview, but actually getting it scheduled took over a month. The recruiter would ask for my availability for the upcoming week then after responding there would be radio silence for a while followed by a new email asking for availability again as the original dates passed. This went on a few times in a row until more than a month passed until finally one of my emails got a response. After that was a video call with an engineer on the team who showed up late then spent the beginning of the interview attempting to pull up my resume and locate the questions he was supposed to ask me as we sat in awkward silence. After a few questions, we then transitioned to a live coding exercise plucked from LeetCode.
