I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Houzz in Feb 2015
Interview
I received a message from a LinkedIn recruiter. We scheduled a phone interview, during which she described the company and position in moderate detail and asked me basic questions about myself going back to high school. I told her I was interested so she sent me an email for a formal interview with another recruiter. This recruiter was a little older and wasn't as friendly (not to say she wasn't kind, she just wasn't very peppy). She didn't really smile and I felt like she either has to do a lot of interviews and isn't excited about it or is trying to make you uncomfortable.
Interview questions [15]
Question 1
Describe your high school experience. Extracurricular activities? Sports? Honor classes?
Why did you choose the college you chose? Did you go straight to university out of high school? What was your GPA? What was college like? What were you involved in? Did you work?
Great company to work for. They have a stringent hiring process. You will have multiple interviews followed by a presentation at the end. All in all they want to see if you understand their platform and user mentality. Big props if you show your personality or if you have a positive attitude it will go a long way. It was definitely gruelling but totally fair as the job itself is quit full on.

Question 1
Why Houzz? Why sales? You don't seem like a salesperson.. (I don't). Very blunt but direct.
Houzz places a large emphasis on role playing in the interview process, both for external and internal roles. It's daunting in the moment but is actually good practice and gives interviewers a good sense of how you think on your feet
