1. Let them tell their story - they want to feel that they’ve been heard, and that somebody cares (active listening) 2. Agree with them - which shows them you are willing to work with the customer to solve the problem 3. Then ask questions that will help guide them to a solution 4. Stay calm and control my own emotions, don’t take it personally
