It was long and arduous. Started in December 2024, being approached by one of their recruiters through geekhunter via email. The opportunity seemed interesting so I enrolled into their hiring process. At first, it was to work with a local company in my country of origin through them as the outsourcer who'd manage me as their employee. Standard practice. After being screened, I was immediately accepted into a Technical Interview and after being evaluated I was approved by the person at the time and sent forward to a third step which was a live coding challenge, which I also succeeded through. After that there was a meeting with one of their managers and after clarifying a few details of how Howdy operates I was then put in a pool of talents that they'd try and match with one of their partners. This whole process took a whole month to get to this point, which while tedious makes sense since they're ensuring high quality. However, this is where it got complicated. From January 2025 until October 2025, I was taking extra technical interviews or sometimes just basic screenings with different startup CEOs and CTOs trying to find a good match through Howdy, went through three partners that had abruptly closed their job posting without hiring anyone before I landed a contract with the fourth one. Through this whole time however, Howdy was very communicative and reassuring, checking in to make sure I was still interested and updating their understanding of my current standing in the market as a professional. I'd like to say, despite being the longest hiring process I've ever took part in, it felt really endearing and respectful, and didn't feel like I was wasting my time at all, just had many strokes of bad luck of the partners that seemed would be a good a match for me suddenly backing out on hiring anyone in general.
