I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Cambridge, MA) in Jun 2018
Interview
When I first started my job search, I reached out to a remarkable member of the People Operations team, introducing myself and expressing my interest in recruiting at HubSpot. They were kind enough to answer my email, and recommended I keep a lookout for Recruiting Coordinator openings. I did just that, and was thrilled when a position opened up a few months later. My interview process consisted of an initial recruiter phone interview, onsite face-to-face interviews (with three members of the team), and a final round writing exercise. Overall my experience was extremely positive! Everyone I encountered was so friendly and welcoming and really helped me picture myself as a HubSpotter. I was extended an offer, excitedly accepted, and am going on my third month of working at the best company I could imagine.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Boston, MA) in Nov 2021
Interview
I had a friend who works at Hubspot so I reached out to her about an open position. She connected me to the hiring manager and we set up a phone screen. The phone screen went well and I was then scheduled for a Zoom interview with the team lead for the position, which was scheduled for a week later. I thought it went well. They asked a lot of questions like what has been your biggest challenge this past year, weaknesses, strengths, a lot of typical but weirdly worded questions. They took over a week to get back to me and they just emailed and let me know I did not get the job. They really weren't keeping me updated throughout the process and I sent a thank you email that never got a response. They also ask if you would like feedback from your interview, and to which I did respond and they never gave it to me.

Question 1
Questions had different focus areas depending on the person. They sent me the focus areas before so I could prepare.
The hiring manager asked general question about my motivations, why HubSpot, etc.
This was by far the most enjoyable and impactful interview experience I’ve had thus far. Oftentimes the job search/interview process can feel intimidating, but it was quite the opposite with HubSpot. It’s clear that the team truly embodies HEART. I felt valued throughout the entire process and the hiring manager was always super transparent and supportive. Although I unfortunately did not receive an offer, I met with the hiring manager for a feedback call where she shared valuable advice and tips for future interviews. Her feedback has given me the confidence to reapply again once I’ve gained more experience. More companies need to follow HubSpot’s lead by making the interview process more human. I would 100% recommend to a friend, and I look forward to reapplying again in the future!
