I was contacted by a HubSpot recruiter through LinkedIn. She was very enthusiastic and helpful at the time. My experience and qualifications met the needs of the role and she told me that I had a breadth of expertise that they were trying to find. She was going to set me up with interviews with two hiring managers, both with similar open roles. I met with one hiring manager, and while nice, she was very dour. That type of personality felt out of place for a company who prides itself in collaboration and enthusiasm for the domain. The interview went well, but it’s tough to really know with someone like that. However, we had an engaging conversation for the most part and I was able to answer all of her questions. I never heard about the second role. After multiple follow ups, no one got back to me and I was ghosted by the recruiter. Amazing how someone can go from “I’m in your court to bring you on!” to complete silence, ignoring my attempts to just see if I’m in the running or not. It really tarnished my view of HubSpot.
