I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Singapore) in May 2022
Interview
The hiring process consists of multiple interviews - a recruiter screen and a technical interview. I was told by one of the hiring managers that there would be 2-3 more interviews if the candidate passes the technical interview.
The recruiter screen was a very pleasant process. It was conducted via Zoom and is basically just behavioural questions and talking about your past experiences. A huge shout-out to Alison, who not only provided me with one of the best interviews I've had, but also provided prompt follow-ups and advice along the way. Great job, Alison!
The technical interview was tough and you need to really familiarise yourself with the HubSpot marketing software to be sufficiently prepared. The interviewers expect all candidates to possess fundamental customer service skills, so they'll want to assess other soft skills instead.
The skills you really need to possess for the role are: resourcefulness, creative problem-solving, a lucid and logical workflow, and coachability. They're really big on being able to handle ambiguity as well because product knowledge won't tide you through a lot of the problems their customers face.
Regardless of how well you do, the interviewers will provide feedback during the interview on how you could have done better. Do prepare questions to ask because the Q&A part is 15 minutes and they'll be expecting some good ones..
Attending the interview is good training to tackle other interviews because the difficulty and feedback helps shine light on your strengths and weaknesses. I didn't proceed to the next stage of the hiring process but am glad because I realised the role is really a mixture of customer service and being a business coach. It's customer SUPPORT, not customer service.
Good luck to anyone who applies!

Question 1
Tell me about a time you had conflict with a coworker or colleague, and how did you overcome it?
It is a 5 step interview process, with the 1st one being a phone screening, then a video call/interactive assignment, and then finally three 30 minute back to back interviews for the 3rd and final round.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot in Apr 2026
Interview
Three rounds:
-Screening with recruiter
-Technical (live troubleshooting with a manager)
-Behavioral (3-30 minute interviews with managers)
The recruiter offers prep sessions before the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Take advantage of them as they’ll explicitly walk you through how to prepare.
