I first had to complete an online test (focused on attention to detail and problem solving skills).
I then had a 20-30 minutes phone interview with the Operations Manager.
I was invited to an on-site interview a few days later; the recruiter sent me an exhaustive email that explained who I would meet (a couple members of the Ops team, an account manager and the CEO), what I would do (I would be interviewed by all of them and I'd have to do a couple of exercises for them to assess my understanding of 401(k) plans / finance, and how comfortable I was with Excel), who I would have lunch with (the Ops Manager and an Account Manager), how much time it would last (about 3 hours), how to get there etc.
I sent a thank you email a couple hours after the interview and got a very nice answer back.
I knew they were interviewing a lot of candidates so I stayed patient during the process and only reached out to the recruiter again 2 weeks later, kindly asking for an update on the hiring process. She answered the same day explaining that they would take their decision within the next 2 weeks. And they did.
Everybody was extremely nice and professional throughout the whole process.
