      Coordinator Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Hyland in Jun 2015

      Interview

Applied online 5/4/2015. Received an email 10 days later to schedule a phone screen. The call was with the department manager, lasted about 30 minutes and was pretty basic. Was invited to interview in person a little over a week later. I first met with a recruiter for another 30 minute interview. Again, very basic questions (some questions were even a repeat of what I was asked over the phone). Then I met with 2 managers in the department for an hour interview. Questions were more detailed but again were all behavior based. The process was long, but I have no real complaints. Communication could be improved. At certain points in the process I felt as though I was being ignored or given purposely vague information.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Behavior based questions (Describe a time when you had to make a difficult decision. What is your approach to communication on the job? What was the worst decision you ever made?). Hyland seems like a nice place to work, but in all 3 interviews I was asked if I was "familiar with Hyland's culture" or if I had heard about Hyland's culture. Made me feel a little odd. I understand fit is important, but I haven't heard about or witnessed anything that would lead me to believe that Hyland isn't like any other corporation. Maybe for the Cleveland area they are a little more "glamorous", but their culture isn't THAT progressive to my knowledge. Still just a bunch of offices and cubicles stuffed in a big building...with 2 slides.
