I applied online through the ICICI Bank website after seeing an advertisement for the role. I uploaded my resume and filled out a form with some basic details. After a few days, I received an email from the HR team inviting me for a group discussion round. They gave me the date, time and venue for the round and asked me to confirm my attendance. On the day of the group discussion, I reached the venue half an hour before the scheduled time. I met with other candidates who had also applied for the role. We were divided into groups of six and given a topic to discuss. The topic was “How can ICICI Bank leverage digital banking to increase its customer base and revenue?” We were given 10 minutes to prepare and 15 minutes to present our views. I participated actively in the group discussion, sharing my ideas and opinions, listening to others, asking questions and giving feedback. I tried to show my communication skills, logical thinking, teamwork and leadership abilities. I also tried to relate the topic to the role of a relationship manager and how I can contribute to the bank’s digital banking strategy. After the group discussion, we were asked to wait for the results. The HR team announced the names of the candidates who had cleared the round and asked them to stay back for the next round. I was happy to hear my name among them. The next round was a one-on-one interview with the hiring manager. He introduced himself and asked me to do the same. He then asked me a series of questions about myself, my previous work experience, my knowledge of banking products and services, my sales strategies and techniques, my customer relationship skills, my location preference and my salary expectations. He also asked me some situational questions to test how I would handle different scenarios as a relationship manager. I answered all the questions confidently and honestly, giving examples from my past work or hypothetical situations. I also asked him some questions about the role, the bank and the work culture. I showed enthusiasm, professionalism and interest in the job role. I also researched about ICICI Bank and its vision, mission and values before the interview and mentioned them in my answers. The interview lasted for about 45 minutes. At the end, he thanked me for my time and told me that he would get back to me soon with the final decision. He also gave me his contact details in case I had any queries or concerns. After a week, I received a call from the HR team congratulating me on getting selected for the role of relationship manager at ICICI Bank. They also sent me an offer letter with all the details of the job offer. I accepted the offer and joined ICICI Bank as a relationship manager.
