1) phone screen with recruiter 2) online intelligence/personality test 3) Presentation 4) Panel Cultural/Behavioral interview Overall, my experience was great, but changed drastically towards the end. I applied online and heard back from recruiter a few days later to set up a phone screen. She explained they are going through rapid growth and A hiring surge, but they don’t have their processes mature yet, so they’re working that out. She explained the above outline of the interview process, then set me up with an online behavior test. The same day after finishing the test, she set up the next interview, which was a Presentation to the Chief Product Officer and Chief of Staff, and I would have 48 hours from the presentation to prepare using a prompt that would be emailed to me. The prep was pretty straightforward, but the presentation was pretty awkward as they didn’t do much Beyond intros and I just went ahead and started. There weren’t any questions about my background or experience or resume, but the CPO was very engaged and asked follow up questions, the COS looked lost and preoccupied with something else and kept turning her camera on and off. Still, it went well overall. Received feedback from the recruiter within hours that the presentation was great, interviewers had lots of compliments, and that I’m moving to the final stage with 4 x 30 min panel interviews - the other PM, Chief People Officer, Director of Engineering, and Director of Talent Acquisition Had final round on a Thursday. Most went really well and seemingly good reception, the Director of Engineering was kind of like talking to a typing wall, but was still OK. Again, not a lot of questions about background, more personality and working with others and introspective questions. Was told by Dir of Talent that I would heard back Friday, latest Monday. I happened to receive another offer that same afternoon (Thursday) that was expiring in a few days, and I informed the recruiter of this after she reached out to see how the interviews went. She immediately asked for us to get on a call to discuss. She said one of the interviewers would be out, but she would guarantee an answer by Tuesday at the latest. Tuesday afternoon comes, and nothing - so I reached out and she responded after biz hours saying there was no decision yet and they’d need at least a few more days. Again, I shared my time constraint for the other offer and she assured me a response Tuesday, so I began to suspect that they just didn’t know how to gracefully reject me. She instead waited until Friday COB to tell me they moved forward with other candidates. Luckily I accepted the other offer instead of waiting on them to waste my time. Summary: cool people, cool company. Startup that is still trying to figure themselves out. Weird interview process where you don’t really talk much about your actual experience. Once recruiter changes their attitude, start looking for a new place to interview
