I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at ID.me (Tysons Corner, VA) in Feb 2024
Interview
Interview content was pretty standard. Mix of technical rounds and behavioral interviews. None of the questions asked were unfair and interviewers were nice.
The process was pretty drawn out though. Interviews would be scheduled 1 by 1, days/week apart, which I have seen some companies and this wasn't an issue. The main issue was my conversation with the main hiring manager was delayed multiple times due to scheduling issues but I got the sense that they were just stalling for time to interview other candidates. Because I was verbally told I should expect an offer as most of my interviews went generally well but later after I had a chance finally speak with the hiring manager I was informed they would be waiting for newer candidates.
No issue with the decision or outcome but the process and candidate experience did not leave me feeling great.

Question 1
General behavioral questions. The coding part was not your typical leet code question - it was a practical coding exercise which was good.

Interview
Many rounds of interviews, drawn out process. Had to take a coding test, even though I explained that I hadn’t been writing code as an individual contributor for years. The engineer conducting the interview was not very personable, gave very little feedback as I was trying to work through the problem, then led me to believe that my answer was correct. Got a call a few minutes afterwards that they were ending the interview process. I might have bombed that part of it, but the way it was executed made me feel bad and left me with a terrible impression of the company. Would not interview with them again.
