I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at IDEA Public Schools (San Antonio, TX) in Mar 2019
Interview
I sent in an application and was contacted after 2 days. I did a video recorded interview, which was different, but it went alright. Then I was invited to an in person interview. Up until then, the process was good and efficient.
The in person interview went horribly. The principal kept interrupting me and just read through a list of questions. In my experience, interviews tend to be more of a conversation, but this man just seemed eager to get this over with.
I had prepared a lesson to teach (the principal forgot what subject I was asked to teach!!!) but only got through 3 minutes before I was interrupted. The principal had strange ideas about classroom management that just... Did not make sense in a special education context.
Overall, the experience was negative. It may have just been this one school, because up until then, the process was really nice and straightforward.
