I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at IDEA Public Schools (San Antonio, TX) in May 2019
Interview
I filled out the online interview.
After a week, I received a request to do an video interview. The video interview was on a third party platform that would present the question to you, give you a minute to prepare, and then it would start recording you for three minutes.
After passing the video interview, I was called to schedule a face to face interview.
For the face to face interview, they asked me to complete one of their provided lesson plans and have a lesson created based on the level of ELA I was applying for: imagery, rhetorical devices, or argue with the three rhetorical devices.
On the day of the interview, I was asked to complete a small quiz to ensure that I understand some concepts I would be expected to teach. I was not informed about this beforehand so it cut into part of my interview time.
I then was escorted to my point of contact's office. She left me there because there were some other things she needed to do on campus. I sat in her office for about 30 minutes (already 40 minutes past the time my interview was supposed to start) until finally someone came by and said they had been waiting for me in the room down the hallway. They assumed that someone had told me where I was supposed to go.
My interview time was cut short because of all this. And on top of that, the questions they asked me were the ones I had already answered in the video interview!!!
After all that, they told me that someone would reach out to me in a week. I sent a thank you email to my point of contact and my interviewers, but never got a courtesy response. A week went by and I had received no word about the job. I reached out via email and still got no response. I called the school and was never able to get a hold of someone who could get me an answer. And the messages I left were never returned.
It has been three months since then and I still have NOT received any form of contact from this IDEA school.
I am very unhappy with how they ran the entire process after the video interview and I am hesitant to every apply again after their lack of communication and order.

Interview
The process started with an in depth application. You need 5 references that all have to complete the reference request. You will also complete a skills assessment in your content area as well as a pre-recorded interview. The final step will be an actual interview with a Q&A section and a mock lesson that lasted about an hour overall for me.
