I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at IGATE (London, England) in Jan 2015
Interview
First screening telephonic interview for 45 minutes from India. The questions the interviewer “Purushottam” asked were not too bad, however I felt like he was reading the questions from a paper, as he asked the same question twice in two occasions and I had to remind that answer to this question was given already. He did not put any effort to know the candidate’s and his knowledge relevant to the position. I felt like the interviewer did not have proper domain knowledge.
At the end the interviewer told me that the “job needs very well hands on development”. At that point I understood that interviewer did not understand any of the answers to his questions and he was expecting answers of an inexperience developer, which perhaps would work for the position.
They did not get back to me for feedback and there were no way to get back to them too. Towards the end of the interview I was thinking if they select me for the position, I will speak to their hr and management team to appoint a better interviewer.
If I think now about my IGATE interview, I would say it was a pure wastage of time for me, I was really lucky not to be selected for the next stage and happy with my new job.
