I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at IKEA (Houston, TX) in Dec 2013
Interview
I applied online then was called and asked some questions over the phone like why do you want to work for IKEA etc... Then I was told the second part of the interview was to design a roomset using only IKEA products. I was mailed the packet to use for the design task and presented it during the second interview in person for the Interior Design manager and the Communication and Interior Design director. They have since restructured the CommIn Dept. and I don't believe they have interior designers anymore, rather roomset design implementors, and 2 designers who design for all of North America.
