I had applied to a Senior IT Auditor role, and at the starting of the process, I was screened by a recruiter who was very professional. They had conducted a phone interview where I had matched relevant skills sets, education and desired experience for the role and I was finally invited to see the Audit/Risk head. During my time there, I wrote a written aptitude test, which was extremely simple. However, it all started when then they gave me a written questionnaire for a “Financial” Audit-related scenarios. As a senior “IT” Auditor, while scanning through the document, I had immediately figured out that the questionnaire was unrelated to my job specs. I immediately pointed out that these questions were purely Financial Audit-related scenarios and not for an IT Audit role. The recruiter had also realized the mistake and was apologetic about it. The recruiter then contacted, who wrote these questions but he refused to accept his mistake or to revise the questionnaire, or to skip the exam portion and start the interview. He had insisted that I should complete the test or I may leave. I had no choice but to apologize and leave as nothing was related to the role that I’d applied for and the skill testing was for another role and I was being forced to take it, which wouldn’t adequately test my knowledge of the field that I had originally applied for! The management had no sense of courtesy as I had completed all the pre-screenings and interviews before the face to face interview. I had driven over an hour for the interview. The interviewer did not acknowledge all the hassles and previous screenings, as he didn’t even bother to meet me or say hello, or even apologize for what had taken place. There was absolutely no courtesy, no ethics, no professionalism displayed from interviewer even though, ironically, he’s occupying a very prestigious position in the company. It was a great disappointment to have dealt with such an issue which could have been solved if individuals had been open to communication. I would not recommend anyone applying for a position in this firm as their individuals have displayed that they lack professionalism in certain areas and the fact that even if they are erroneous in their ways, they think that they can dismiss people who’re trying to let them know about those errors.
