IMAX interview questions

I applied directly on their website and had a recruiter phone screen a few days later. The recruiter mentioned my resume as being particularly interesting to the hiring manager. A week later I interviewed on-site with the hiring manager (in-person) and director of software engineering (via Zoom). It was a smooth and straightforward hour-long interview with a list of relevant questions I answered before I dove into my portfolio. This was a 12-month contract position, but I was told they intended to convert it to full-time. Two weeks later I was told that despite being a strong and talented candidate, they went with the other finalist. Overall it was a positive experience, but I suspect my salary expectation of $15K more than their number (matching market rate) made the decision simpler for them.
