I was sent an invitation to complete the video interview questions and behavioral assessments on the FRIDAY NIGHT before Christmas saying the video interview and assessment questions needed to be completed 3 working days (which would be Christmas Day?) or they would move on. Since it has been a challenge to get an interview the last few months, and the company looked legitimate, I decided to put time into this one. I had a little bit of time on Monday (my wife’s birthday and two days before Christmas) to complete the video interview and assessments which ended up taking over two hours. Wanting to send in good answers took time. Within two days on CHRISTMAS DAY I got a rejection email. What type of HR response is that? Clearly they have outsourced their HR to Eastern European countries as the person had a different email than the person addressed in the email. The email was incredible canned and shallow without any feedback saying *due to high submissions they don’t provide feedback*. I appreciate a quick process, but to do that in under two days during the holidays, making me submit during a short period of time during the holiday week.. it all felt incredibly unprofessional, and pretty much a scam. This sums up my job interview experience this year in quite the ironic way. Little to no respect for the amount of time given to these stupid interviews. To the companies that do this.. you are exactly the reason why the world the way it is today and you deserve the talent you supposedly hire in a fair and honest way.
