I submitted my resume online then was contacted by the hiring manager a few days later asking to complete an online assessment. After passing, I had two zoom calls with the hiring manager. The first was pretty standard, asking about my experience and several behavioral questions. For the next one, I was asked to prepare a presentation related to the job which also went fine. However, for the third zoom call I was asked to present again but this time for the COO. This was, by far, the worst interview experience of my life. Aside from the fact that he was distracted the entire time, he was disrespectful and said that the tech industry is "white male dominated." This made me feel extremely uncomfortable but I still went on answering his technical questions to the best of my ability as he grilled me for the first 20 minutes. When it was time for me to present for the second half, he abruptly ended the interview and I was never given the chance to show him what I had spent hours putting together for him. Given that it was a final interview, and I was told I was only up against one other candidate, I expected some sort of follow-up. After emailing several times asking for an update, I never received a response. I can understand being busy, but the disrespect and lack of professionalism made this seem like a blessing in disguise.
