The interview was virtual. Seemed like it went great and I got an email the next day saying they were impressed and wanted me to write an article on a technical topic and submit the same in a few days. I spent time and energy and sent the article in, and got an email thanking me for my timely submission saying they would get back in a few days. There was absolutely NO RESPONSE after that until I followed up. Suddenly their urgent requirement apparently vanished and they replied saying they have a change and the position has been scrapped. I would not be surprised if they use my article as their own! Extremely unprofessional as they did not close the interview loop on their own.
