Applied online and was contacted by a technical HR. He discussed about my experience and projects and asked me to complete a web application. I completed it and sent him. There was no response from them for a week. After asking for an update they sent a rejection mail. Being a stealth start up , they won't tell more about company unless you have the chance to speak up to CEO after first round.

Application
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Igneous (Seattle, WA) in Nov 2015
Interview
The hiring process is unique and tailored to the work that you will be doing, which is nice. None of the textbook CS theory questions. It starts with a phone screen and then a "homework assignment" which, if that goes well, leads to in-person interviews at their Seattle office. Altogether, the in-person interviews lasted about 4 hours.
HOWEVER, after accepting their offer in November, it was rescinded from me in early April (just 8 weeks short of my start date) due to "program cuts". The rescinding came with no compensation despite the company knowing that I declined other offers to accept theirs. Ironically, the news came just days after I read a Yahoo finance article about Igneous hiring two new executives. Moral of the story is that this start up doesn't have 6 month foresight, so it begs the question of whether they will remain viable in the industry.
