I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Illumina (San Diego, CA) in Mar 2015
Interview
Very open to what they were expecting in terms of the position and asked specific questions to understand if you are capable of performing the necessary tasks. Sometime unnecessarily specific to the point that it was a bit unfair that it was expected. Brought multiple people in to the interview which made it a balance of answering the questions as well as balancing the personalities.

Extensive. Numerous interviews, only to find that at the end, they preferred someone with more solid biotech experience. Not sure why they went through the effort of all the interviews if they knew they needed someone with different experience.
