Interview
Submitted resume. Quick response: phone screen with HR. Then quick phone interview with hiring manager. It lasted about an hour. It felt as the manager had other appointments and we didn't have much time to discuss things, but he said we could speak more during an on-site interview. Within a week I was traveling for a full day of interviews at the site. I interviewed with 4 other engineers, the HR guy, the hiring manager, and the director. I got feedback on the interview within a few days.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
None were really difficult - all in line with plastics manufacturing for volume products. Probably the most difficult was to describe a DOE that I've done previously. I have not done very complicated DOE before - just simple ones. Interviews were professional and the questions were reasonable. I thought I did very well in the interview and handled all questions well - getting rejected was a surprise.
Describe selection of plastics. Describe # of cavities for molds you've used. Describe SPC for manufacturing. Describe engineering development: who designs, who analyzes, who tests, who handles manufacturing, and where did you contribute?
