      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      Oct 19, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Illumio

      Interview

Trash - recruiter and hiring manager are disconnected in terms of what they are looking for. One of the engineers even told me they take a long time to give out offers. I waited 3 weeks before getting rejected but the recruiter said she'd have an answer after 1 week, meaning she kept me on the hook for an extra 2 weeks. The questions were very easy but it was a waste of time driving to and from the office. This was a good lesson. Illumio isn't public and pays pretty low too, so I'm not at a loss.

Hi there and thanks for sharing your feedback. Please accept my apology for what sounds like you experienced in the interview process as a reprioritization of our requirements. Our job is to get that all squared away before we ask for your time, which we value and know is at a premium. When a candidate applies to a role here at Illumio, our obligation is to ensure that there is full alignment in what we're looking for so that there can be a good and fair mutual assessment of fit, for both us and the company. That process broke down there for you, and we're working hard to ensure tighter alignment going forward, thanks in part to your feedback. Thanks, David Chief People Officer
