First phone-screened by recruiter on East Coast, who was candid that the company was still in somewhat of a "transition" following a new CEO...I seemed to impress him with my experience/interest in cybersecurity; wanted to schedule a phoner with hiring manager ASAP....That next call happened later that week; after 17 minutes, she said "Let's bring you in here and meet people" (the goal of a phone interview--success!)...."Gauntlet-style" onsite interviews with five members of marketing team; Product Mktg. Mgr, then CMO, PR Mgr., Content Mktg. Dir., Social Media Mgr.--nearly 3 hours total; all were reasonably cordial....Sent thank-you emails to each, no replies (uh-oh)....no response at all within 48 hrs. (bigger uh-oh)....Emailed recruiter after a full week; no reply....called him directly the following morning; told me (as I expected at that point) they'd chosen another applicant (among three called-in for interviews).
I asked for feedback on where I may have fallen short...he said the winning candidate did well on a "writing assignment"--which I wasn't offered (and likely would have *aced*)....I don't mind getting beat out by a superior candidate, but I didn't feel I received a level playing field--plus I had to call for follow-up, after feeling ghosted.
