I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Imply
Interview
The process was very straightforward.
- After the introductory calls with VP and founder, I was asked to complete a time-bound technical exercise.
- After clearing the coding exercise, there is a phone interview to go over the solution and thinking process.
- Post that, there were two system design rounds.
Overall, the process didn't take much time.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Imply
Interview
The entire process was very smooth.
The recruiter reached out to me and we discussed the details of the role, company and my experience over a call. This was followed by an hour long call with the hiring manager and then a virtual onsite interview. The virtual on-site had 5 rounds- 2 coding, 2 system design and 1 behavioral/resume followed by a close out call with the recruiter.

The phone screen was mostly going over resume and earlier work experience followed by a small coding exercise. The onsite had 5 rounds, 2 coding + 2 system design + 1 host manager followed by a chat with the recruiter. The onsite was followed by a discussion with the VP and now I work here :)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Standard coding questions focussing on data structures and concurrency. System design questions were focussed on general big data questions and some specific use cases
First round was simple cultural with a few technical questions
Second round was a take-home coding challenge
The interviewer was one of the software managers. He seemed rather uptight and snobby. Not very friendly. Culture seems a little off if management takes after this fella.
