I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Indeed (Tokyo) in Aug 2022
Interview
First round with Karat about the algorithm questions and some basic CS questions
Final round which consists of six sub rounds. 2 whiteboards, 1 system design, 1 resume deep dive, 1 coding review and 1 close.
I notice that a few of the interviewers are not professional enough. They simply cannot lead the interviews and engage in meaningful discussions in English. Heavy accents and wrong choices of English words. All of them are from China. Don't get me wrong, some other interviewers are also from China and they could engage with me in English without any problems.
To indeed, you should not really let people who cannot engage with candidates in English to be interviewers. They will give bad interview experience.
First a quick call with a recruiter and then a karat test. You're allowed to retake the karat coding test within 24hrs of the first test, if you prefer to.
