I recently interviewed for the HR Operations Analyst role. The process started strong — my first-round interview with the recruiter was professional, organized, and left me feeling positive about the opportunity.
However, my interview with the hiring manager was a very different experience. It felt unstructured and unprofessional. It didn’t seem like the manager had reviewed my resume thoroughly, as several questions were misaligned with my background or the role. The questions felt rushed and unprepared, and whenever I began answering, I was often interrupted mid-sentence and redirected to a completely different topic. Many of the questions were phrased more like unclear statements, and when I asked for clarification, the manager struggled to reword or explain what he meant. Overall, the conversation felt disjointed and frustrating.
After that interview, I learned — without any direct communication — that the company had changed the job description from fully remote to onsite/hybrid. I received no notification about this major change and had to follow up multiple times just to understand whether I was still being considered and what the expectations were. This lack of transparency and communication was disappointing and added to an already confusing experience.
While the beginning of the process showed promise, the later stages lacked professionalism, clarity, and consistency. I hope the company strengthens its communication and interview preparation so future candidates have a smoother and more respectful experience.
