I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Infosys BPM (Indore) in Aug 2024
Interview
I received an email invite for the interview. It was walk-in drive Interview process started around 10:30 am. The interview had 3 rounds in all. First round involved a Direct conversation/one on one communication with the recruiter. Conversations were around the different topics such as - "What did you do yesterday/Speak on your favorite thing - hobby - interest/What are your hobbies/Speak something about yourself" etc. The topics were not given in advance, rather were given by the interviewer during personal communication. Whole purpose of this round was to check:
- a candidate's communication skills,
- how he/she is able to manage a situation in which things are random and not pre planned,
- what thoughts a candidate can come up with in his/her mind and then how confidently/smoothly/clearly/sensibly/comfortably they can put & frame it in front of the recruiter,
- candidate's English vocabulary/overall grammar.
So, to clear this round, one needs to sharpen his/her communication skills, speaking abilities, confidence when in random and real situations. One has to speak up (leave fears behind), present oneself confidently during this and ultimately speak well.
Once passed this round, you reach the second round that involves a test known as the Versant Test. This test enables organizations to assess levels of spoken & written English language skills necessary for a job. It's an online test, that involves certain questions for which one has to record and write the answers. It's an important phase of the interview. One has to take care of the voice, typing speed, accuracy when answering. Google this term for more precise information on it as this test is crucial and requires practice. It involves timer in every question, so their is a good element of Time Management, Pressure Management in this section. So, one has to be mindful about and focused on his/her communication in the midst of all this and make sure he/she brings out best during this. Then comes the third round, known as the Ops Round (Operations), a conversation with HR or Operations Manager that checks a person's potential and suitability for the job.
Overall, it was a great interview experience.
