I thought the interview process was pretty standard for IT management. It utilized the STAR methodology of situational feedback. The interviewer simply wants to know and understand the different situations you have faced and how you would handle those for Infosys. I believe every manager wants tot know that or have an expectation of what you would do or bring to the table should they move forward with on-boarding you.

Panel interview makes it way too difficult for employees to grow internally. The candidate is grilled as per whims and fancies of panelists. Instead, It is always easier to apply outside and get a job. The interview is not so difficult affair for the external candidates. Especially, when you are referred from some big, fat pro.
