I had a screening call with a recruiter and was promptly scheduled to meet with the hiring manager. Our interview was cancelled and rescheduled the morning of to the following week (on Thanksgiving eve -- without inquiring of my availability, but hey, no problem). This morning I get a notice saying the revised appointment had been cancelled. I email HR to figure out what exactly is going on, only to receive a form email 20 or so minutes later stating the position had been filled. Wild stuff. I carved out time during a trip with my partner last week to participate in the screening interview, only to find out there was likely another candidate they were waiting to receive word from about an offer already levied. I'm also beginning to believe the reason this week's interview was cancelled (family emergency) was a lie. Job candidates really deserve better than what we're being subjected to.
