Interview
I gave my resume to the hiring manager in November when he was visiting our campus. Got a phone interview in February, and then flew to Hillsboro for an onsite interview in April.
Interview consisted of a 30 min meet-n-greet, then an hour long interview with a group leader, followed by an hour long presentation of my graduate work to two junior engineers. The engineers then took me out for lunch. We chatted informally about how work/life balance is at Intel, benefits etc. This was followed by another hour long interview with another group leader.
The interview itself was pretty laid back. They started with what I do in my lab, and what instrument I use. Then there were questions about whether those instruments break down, and if they do how I fix them. How do I find out the problems with the said instruments, and how do I identify what caused the break down. There were some random questions like what would I do differently if I were to start anew in my grad school, but mainly they will ask questions from how I answered the previous questions. They did, however, emphasized that I'm supposed to be on call.
It was my first ever interview for any job, and I think it went well!!!

It was pretty straightforward overall. They mainly asked questions about my resume, previous work experience, and the projects and research work I completed during my graduate studies. The conversation was conversational and focused on understanding my background and technical experience.
