I applied online for phd level process engineering position. The whole procees took 4 months. The interview process is summarized as follows:
One to one phone interview with hiring manager. After three weeks, one to five skype interviews. One day after the skype interviews, I was offered for onsite interview. Following week, I was interviewed with 8 engineers and a tech at Intel New Mexico site. It was almost a whole day one to one interview. I had to present my phd research for 45 mins following group Q&A. All the queries were related to the technical (related to phd research and the litho process engineering positions they were interviewing for) and behavioural types.
Eight weeks after onsite interview, I was contacted by the hiring manager to have the 4th round of phone interview. Following week, I was offered by the recruiter. The entry level offer was very generous and I accepted it.

Two rounds, both behavioural. First one was a 15 minute call, second one was a more intense in-person behavioural with two managers. Behavioural questions centered around teamwork, attention to detail and methodical problem solving.

Process begins with a phone screen with recruiter, followed by hiring manager discussion, then onsite interviews consisting of several one-on-one sessions, where candidates are usually expected to deliver a presentation.
It was pretty straightforward overall. They mainly asked questions about my resume, previous work experience, and the projects and research work I completed during my graduate studies. The conversation was conversational and focused on understanding my background and technical experience.
