I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Intel Corporation (Chandler, AZ) in Sep 2013
Interview
Applied for a couple of positions online. Got a phone screen interview with a hiring manager for one position after a few weeks. A few days after the phone interview (mostly behavioral and resume questions), he said that my background was better suited for another position so he passed my information along to a hiring manager of Process Engineers. After a couple of months I got an email to schedule an on-site interview for the following week. The interview consisted of presenting my PhD dissertation to hiring managers and dinner on the first day. The second day consisted of listening to Intel staff describing the company and benefits and two one-hour long interviews with two hiring managers in each interview. The on-site interviews had various behavioral and technical questions.

I interviewed at Intel Corporation (Albuquerque, NM)
Interview
Process begins with a phone screen with recruiter, followed by hiring manager discussion, then onsite interviews consisting of several one-on-one sessions, where candidates are usually expected to deliver a presentation.
It was pretty straightforward overall. They mainly asked questions about my resume, previous work experience, and the projects and research work I completed during my graduate studies. The conversation was conversational and focused on understanding my background and technical experience.
