      Senior Product Manager Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Intuit

      Interview

There were about 4-5 rounds maybe? But no presentation, mainly just meeting people. 1. Recruiter screen 2. Hiring manager screen 3. Meeting the team (broken into 2-3 different sessions) 4. Meeting the leadership team I’ll say that all of the people I met were great for culture fit and I felt that I got along great with everyone. But there were a few things that made this opportunity fall short from other opportunities I was in the process of at the same time: - recruiter - He didn’t really do a great job of building a relationship and didn’t really keep me as prepared or informed on what to expect so I found out info as I went along or had to actively ask for it which could have slightly impacted my excitement bc I really do put an importance on first impressions and the hiring team and who a company chooses as their first line. - each round of interviews felt like the interviewees didn’t talk or maybe they didn’t prep as much? They all started with “idk what stage you’re at or who you e spoken to already” which made me wonder if they even read my resume or if any of my future peers cared about the role or if there was a communication problem in the team? - there wasn’t a clear outline of the role and expectations on immediate projects - it was a bit arbitrary which isn’t always a bad thing but I definitely wanted my next position to have clear purpose and goals All in all though they did move pretty quickly which I appreciated! I just didn’t feel a personal connection to the role or the team and the process wasn’t as stellar as some of the other companies I’ve interviewed with.

Ghosted, after putting in so much time and effort. I don't think that there is any excuse for ghosting candidates, after multiple follow ups. Its understandable that sometimes situations might have changed, say the role is being put on hold. But the least one can do is to acknowledge that they are working on providing an update. There is a high level of accountability problem across the board for recruiters these days. They have one job (literally there is someone else for scheduling). I won't be naming names, but what goes around comes around. After all Its a small recruiters' market.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Intuit (Mountain View, CA) in Sep 2024

      Interview

A recruiter on Linkedin reached out about a specific role. I had a 30 minute screening interview with questions around experience and career goals. I was asked to do an urgent interview with the hiring manager the same day. I did not hear back after, even after reaching out to the recruiter. Pretty rude after accommodating their schedule.
