Interview
I went through a four-stage interview process with Investec, and while I didn’t end up getting the role, I really appreciated the way the process was handled from start to finish.
Each stage felt thoughtful and well-organised. I had the chance to speak with different people across the business, and it was clear they weren’t just assessing skills — they were genuinely interested in how I might fit into the team and the company culture. That made the whole experience feel more personal and less transactional, which I really valued.
Everyone I interacted with was professional, warm, and respectful of my time. Communication between stages was prompt, and expectations were always clearly set. I didn’t receive detailed feedback at the end, which would’ve been helpful, but I understand it’s not always possible.
Even though I didn’t get the job, the process left a positive impression. I’d be happy to apply again in the future, and I’d encourage others to consider working with Investec.

What I appreciated most was that it wasn’t about ticking boxes — it was about having a genuine conversation and letting me be open about who I am.
I applied online. I interviewed at Investec (London, England) in Aug 2024
Interview
It took from start to finish nearly three months from applying for the role, going through multiple stages of interviews to then be told that I wasn't successful for either of the roles that I had applied for. My time has been wasted when I could've invested my time and energy elsewhere.
I feel very disappointed with Investec, they had me believe I was a good candidate and asked me to apply for another role with them because they were so impressed with my CV, only to be told, I had too much experience for one of the roles and not enough for the second role.
What is even more disappointing is that I have spent a fortune on train fares when they could've told me earlier on in the process that I wasn't successful instead of continuing my application onto the next stage.
Their ethos is all about colleague well-being but after the way I have been treated as a candidate this has left me questioning whether they stick by their values.

2-3 rounds of interviews where mostly culture fit is discussed and gauged. Anything can be learnt is the attitude if the basics are there. you wouldn't be invited if your skill set isn't up to scratch.
