Interview
I didn't make it to the interview stage, per se, because after submitting my application I received a request to fill out a 'quick' questionnaire.
The questionnaire consisted of 10+ very profound questions (examples can be found below). I spent at least a day crafting my responses, watched a lot of YouTube videos with their founder, read what I could, to get a sense of their culture and what they're looking for. The last point on the 'short and quick' questionnaire was to upload a video of yourself explaining why you'd be a great fit for the job.
While I was searching for a proper camera (this is a finance position, so recording / editing videos is not my forte) I received 2 automated follow up emails reminding me to complete my application. There was no deadline. However, in about 10 days I received an email saying that 'based on preliminary screening my application was rejected'.
I feel that this company doesn't respect candidates because if there was indeed preliminary screening, I regret wasting my time trying to complete this massive writing / video editing assignment. If they were indeed waiting for my questionnaire, they should have stated that there is a deadline to this assignment, which they had not.
