Upon applying to the position I was scheduled for an interview with the recruiter very quickly. The next 3 subsequent interviews were also scheduled within a week. After that, things went downhill. I would say there’s certainly a “hurry up and wait” mentality at Invitae. There were two separate times where I thought I was completely ghosted. The first, I waited about a month to hear back. In total I had 5 interviews. The 5th interview I was told was a “final interview” and that I was a top candidate for the position. After the final interview (a video presentation) I was told I would hear back the very next day about the position. That day came and went. I reached out to the recruiter (3 different times) who kept putting off the decision and telling me specific dates she would be in touch with me. Those dates also came and went. I guess someone else got the position. I just have to say I’ve never interviewed at a place that had such disrespect for a candidate. If someone doesn’t get the job, just tell them— we deserve at least that. Its been about 3 months now so I can safely say I was ghosted from Invitae. I actually can’t answer the “interview outcome” question for Glassdoor because I think I’ll forever be waiting to know the outcome! If I had actually been told that I didn’t get the job and they had in fact followed up with me by the date(s) I was given, my review of the interview process would have been positive.
